I am a front-end web designer/developer with skills including XHTML, CSS and JavaScript. My freelance work has given me a grounding in a wide range of working practices, independently or as a member of a team, from home or on-site, communicating across different departments and externally with clients.
Many websites I have worked on have since been redesigned or vanished entirely, including: Which? Online, Capital Radio, Microsoft Network, The Post Office, Time Out, NTL, Ford, MVC and Hasbro.
Venda templating

Static caravan recordings is an independent record label, producing cutting edge electronic music. The site was built using ASP fed from an Access database with a shopping cart from Resonance.
The original flash site uses snippets of the label's varied output and plays the jukebox as streaming mp3 files.

Suppliers of organic hand-made soaps, lotions and potions, Hubble Bubble's mission is to produce energising ethical skin and body products. This site was created using PHP5 and XML technologies using PayPal's shopping cart.

blizzard website
I was lead designer on one of the first web-based electronic 'zines with streaming sound. Blizzard was one of the cutting edge sites produced for the Microsoft Network by NoHo.
We launched a new edition every two weeks with a different design and navigation which gave this project an ever-evolving creative flow.
molton brown
Molton Brown required an Ecommerce site with a photography-led design style. The shopping cart used for this project was Actinic. The site got favourable reviews in a few of the design and internet publications such as New Media Age and Design Week when it launched. This site has since been updated.

The Model Workers website features a range of sculptural glass objects made by Ian Hankey, a glass blower, guitarist and artist based in Devon.
Molten glass is an amazing material to work with. It has a life of its own, and if you know what to look for, it suggests ways of making and knowing that would never occur using paper and computer design programmes alone. Ian's designs are always informed by an intimate knowledge of the material and unconventional processes which result in the unique forms you can see on this site.

lakes odyssey website
Lakes Odyssey Tours offer guided tours around key areas of the English Lake District, Cumbria. Their tours include Chasing Shadows, The Gardeners Tour, The Odyssey, Cartmel race days and Beatrix Potter’s Legacy.
As well as showcasing these tours, lakes Odyssey needed to provide bespoke tours where users can design their own touring schedule. It also incorporates photography showing the stunning country site on a gallery page.

search optimisation
Building a website can be a tricky business, designing it without paying heed to search engine optimisation can be catastrophic as no-one may be able to find you. However, building a site to old established marketing methods could get your site banned by Google - this happened to BMW in 2006.
